I was brought up in a non-Christian family. I met  teacher at school when I was 11, who was not a Christian, but his father was a Christian. When he talked about his father, and his fathers life and values, I decided that I wanted what he had, so went home and asked my parents if I could go to church. I have been going to church ever since! It took me 5 years to become a Christian, which I did in my last year in school.

All of the Old Testament is important. Christians who study the Old Testament as well as the New Testament had more secure faith. And Esther is a great book, because there we see what it is like for God’s people to be at their lowest ebb, and how God cares for them.

enter 3. What do you hope will be filling people’s minds and hearts as they walk away from your messages?

A clearer view of how to live in a post-Christian age, and how to see you own life as strategic for God.

Esther 4:14:

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. source And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?

We in the West have not yet begun to think about how to live under severe persecution. If we don’t, our children will. How can we prepare them for it!

It helps me to see how God might use the circumstances and situations for my life, and so how I should be alert and ready for this to happen.

Come for your sake, come for the sake of others, come for the sake of Gospel ministry in New Zealand, and come for the sake of God’s gospel plan for the nations.
